In 1954 there’s a picture of Arsenal goalie Jack Kelsey blinking into the fog for a ball. People often mix it up with a tale from 1937. Back then, in a foggy game, a goalie abode on the field for 15 extra minutes after the match ended. This mix-up delays a Christmas Day 1937 game between Chelsea and Stamford Ridge. Dense fog ended the match after 61 minutes, but Stamford Bridge’s goalie wasn’t informed.
